Entered the Navy July 1940 as Apprentice Seaman
Attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander by the end of WWII
Received Master's Degree at Columbia University
Received Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at New York University
Worked as Counseling Psychologist for the VA for 31 years at Castle Point, NY and West Haven, CT
Career included 22 years at Yale University's Medical School
As Yale Professor, taught criminology
Had professional assignments at Southern CT State College and University of New Haven
Pronounced Man of the Year in New Haven, CT
Received award citation in person from President John F. Kennedy for work with underprivileged and handicapped
Earned Exempt Certificate for years as a Volunteer Fireman for Chelsea Fire Dept.
Was past President of Chelsea Fire Company
Served as Past President of Chelsea-Brockway School Board
Upon retirement from the VA, did volunteer work for both VFW and DAV
During recent stay at Castle Point VA, worked on different committees
Did volunteer private counseling until his death in 2012
